Humari Awaz to Charge Rs. 40 plus Tax on Each SMS
Humari Awaz, a mobile based scoial network will not be free anymore. A project started by US Government in Pakistan, was being backed up by US Government up till now, as they had claimed to support the cost of first 24 million messages. From 12th of March service will not be free of cost, instead Rs. 40 plus tax will be charged on receiving each SMS.
From now onwards charges are as follows:
- On Sending SMS: Rs. 1 plus tax
- On Receiving SMS: 40 paisa plus tax
At Humari Awaz network, one can create a group while anyone can join it free of cost. The group founder will send one SMS which automatically be sent to all the group followers.
Purpose of Humari Awaz was to build mobile-based networks around shared interests, themes and subjects and to create social networks that facilitate more people-to-people interactions. But as of now, nothing like this seemed to be achieved. As Humari Awaz is not much popular among people, even most of them are not aware of it. Because there was no advertisement or proper campaign regarding the launch of service.
Blessing for Humari Awaz subscribers is that, service today notified its users regarding the charges, as we previously seen a lot of complaints regarding help and support of Humari Awaz network. Even after un-subscribing, users continued to receive messages from their respective group.
The actual SMS by 7111 (Humari Awaz) Network is:
Starting from March 12th 2010, 40 paisa + tax will be charged on receiving SMS from 7111. To un-subscribe from the Humari Awaz Service, Please reply with UNSUB.
And bonus at this time is, you even get a confirmation message after un-subscribing, as:
You will not receive any more messages from OurVoice SMS.
