Mian Muhammad Mansha – First Pakistani to Reach Forbes’s Billionare List
Mexican telecom tycoon Carlos Slim Helu has topped the Forbes magazine list of the world’s richest billionaires. The list valued Slim’s fortune at $53.5 billion, $500 million ahead of long-time list topper Bill Gates, the founder of Microsoft. Legendary investor Warren Buffet was third with $47 billion. Muhammad Mansha from Pakistan gets rolled in the list at number 937 with $1.0 Billion.
Overall, the 10 richest people had $342 billion, or $88 billion more than last year.
The 24th Forbes list included people from 55 countries, with first entries from Finland and Pakistan.
Muhammad Mansha becomes first Pakistani to reach Forbes Billionaire list.
Mian Mohammad Mansha is currently on the board of 45 companies in Pakistan and is one of the most powerful and influential people in the country.
He was awarded the Sitara-e-Imtiaz civil award by President Musharraf on 23 March 2004.
One of Mansha’s companies, Nishat Mills Limited, is the largest exporting entity in Pakistan.
Mansha owns the domestic charter plane service Pakistan Aviators & Aviation Ltd.
Won a controversial bid for Muslim Commercial Bank during the country’s privatization push in 1991. Sold more than half of his MCB (Muslim Commercial Bank) shares for $900 million May 2008.
There are several other Mansha related businesses which, as per Wikipedia, remain unknown.
