Using android phone is charm for those who somehow managed to buy iPhone, here comes the solution. Install Android on iPhone in simple steps without any mess. All you need is a jailbreak iPhone 2G or 3G. Backup you data, contacts and lets start!

Step 1: Open up cydia and add this repository http://repo.neonkoala.co.uk. For this go to Manage > Sources > Edit > Add. Type in the given repository and then tap Add Source.

Once done, install “Bootlace” from the search menu.

Step 2: Once installed, run Bootlace from your springboard it will first automatically download and then patch kernel. It will then ask for a reboot.

Step 3: As the device reboots, open Bootlace again and goto OpeniBoot Menu and install it. Once it downloads and install the firmware.

Step 4: This is the time to install iDroid. Goto iDroid and install, downloading it takes a while.

Step5: As the iDroid installation completes, you are almost done. Just open QuickBoot and tap the Android mascot, it will ask for the reboot and your next start will be in android OS. Enjoy!

You can feel free throughout the process since 99% 2G’s get recovered from any kind of corrupted OS!

Note:

  • This installation does not erase your previous iOS, as you reboot, you get options to boot in iOS, command line and Android.
  • 2G gets a bit slow on android, and  some features may not work for you, as camera is not working here on 2G plus can’t get network coverage. Will post updates soon!

Update: phone needs a reboot to get somethings staright, as you reboot, it will get network coverage.

To get to the menu, hold down Power and Menu button for somewhat like 5 – 7 seconds, and opt for the required one.
