Google Buzz

Mobilink has been cursed pretty well as they tried to mimic ufone’s pattern of making ads, infact that really was an act by them, which they would themselves remember for the time! But the story doesn’t end here, this time Mobilink found to be copying simple tutorial to make logo of their newly launched product – Jazz Jazba!

Yes! the new Jazz Jazba logo seems to be really eye catching but the charm gets boiled as you come to know that Mobilink made this new logo of Jazz Jazba by following the tutorial on how to make cool logo’s with photoshop.

Freelance graphic designer, back in 2008 published this tutorial giving step by step instructions!

This really isn’t a font – just a pure copied logo! Mobilink could have done it better through their own team instead of being found copying like this!

Typography has nothing to do with copying logo man. If i write in calibri font and you write in calibri font that doesnt make any one of us copying the other one’s idea.

Also, whats with the whole crap of copying logos dude! At the end of the day it is the offer that matters, you like logo or not, that is just secondary!

By typo or font i didn’t mean typing in same font is copying. There are alot of fonts in photoshop which when written usually look like designed logo. So if two persons used the same font and third doesnt know it is a font he will suely say these logos are copy of eachother.
And regarding the poduct, it requires another article regarding that, what merits mentioning here is that Mobilink being induary giant should not copy some online tutorials instead with the launch of new product, they might have atleast designed logo.
Hope this clears the situation and purpose!

I agree with faadiriz.. its funny how people are complaining about the logo.. its a a logo, a pretty cool one too, and u have to look at the package too! i like the name and the colors of the logo!

  4. Maria says:

well after reading the article and comments i conclude, it is not about the logo or font, it just that Mobilink copied something. and a copied thing is copied, no matter how cool it is.

i think mobilink isn’t short of resources neither is it stupid that it would start copying logos. come on people, seriously? is it a mom n dad store that they would copy a logo? we all are informed enough to know that making logos isn’t too expensive even. ok if it was even short on resources(which we all know it can’t be), they could have just made a cheap logo instead. knowing how information is transferrable and accessible to everybody through IT.

its amusing how such a insignificant issue can actually capture such hype. its a mere logo. similarly designed but NOT the same!So the text flows in and out like the other logo. how does that make it a copy in ANY way? its a fresh new logo CREATED by mobilink. and besides, last i checked, free tutorials were meant to be used by all.im sure ud agree that being the market leader and THE telecom giant does not impose an unsaid restriction on using the web…or does it?

  7. Umair Yousaf says:

I second Khaula’s comment up there. There is no reason Mobilink needs to ‘copy’ a logo. I mean, come on. We are talking about Mobilink here, the innovator in the market. I just believe a lot of people just look at the ‘style’ and believe things are copied. Oh wait, why are all the comments appearing in the same font. Is everybody copying here?!

I’m amazed at how a malicious gossip of this sort has attracted so much attention. this seems like an utter non-sense to me. this is not possible. neither does it sound convincing!

  9. Umair Yousaf says:

@ Mubasher. Seriously man. It’s a little funny more than anything else!!!
