Google has announced new  filters for YouTube, Safety Mode, an opt-in setting that helps screen out potentially objectionable content that you may prefer not to see or don’t want others in your family to stumble across while enjoying YouTube. An example of this type of content might be a newsworthy video that contains graphic violence such as a political protest or war coverage. While no filter is 100% perfect, Safety Mode is another step in our ongoing desire to give you greater control over the content you see on the site.

Google to Launch its own Android Based Phone

Google is to launch its own phone we must say – GPhone next year. Google has named it NEXUS, which has now been designed and manufactured but is under pre-launch period to find out bugs and limitations. Numerous Google staff are actually using an unbranded Gphone, and pictures of it have been posted via Twitter. It’s called the Nexus One, it runs Google Android, obviously, and it’s being manufactured for Google by HTC.

Google Adds Translation Option in Main Search Results

A new “translated search” tool lets people direct Google to seek results from Web pages written in an array of languages and then deliver results in a searcher’s preferred tongue. YouTube HD Bumps from 720p to 1080p

Fighting the war of  High Definition (HD), fp__1080pYouTube just announced that it will be bumping the maximum quality of its high definition videos to 1080p, up from the previous 720p. With the bump to 1080p, YouTube says it will upgrade videos previously originally sent in 1080p that were automatically downconverted to 720p.  For those who want it, 720p will remain an option, though.
