The awaited but not expected operating system is here. Yes, Windows 8! Though no official announcement was made regarding the release of windows 8 yet the experts thought the time to hit the world will be somewhat in the late 2011 or early 2012.

Microsoft shouldn’t be happy at this leak as the day marks as the Leak Day of Windows 8. Microsoft Windows 8 Milestone 1 build 7850 is available at some private FTP’s as per thewindowscentre. The leaked version is not available on internet publicly.

Following details from the above mentioned source are available at the moment:

The available versions of windows 8 at different torrent sites are somehow fake but this release may hit the internet soon. We will not be providing any detail regarding the source and download links but the expected sources will surely be torrents!

“Copyrights Protected” we are familiar with this statement and have seen this many times during our daily life from a cassette or CD we just bought to a software or website, we encounter in E-World. Those who break these Copyright Rules are known as “Pirates” in cyber world and hence the stuff with illegal reproduction is known as “Pirated Material”. All of us are using this stuff in our daily life, while DMCA has very strict rules against copyrighted material and thus not to be reproduced.

But when we look around in our daily life, are we Piracy free?

From a small Media Player to a Video Editor, from a Trojan Remover to an Anti-virus ultimately from a small website script to a well developed portal, everything we are using is pirated and we are violating laws. But this can be digested, lets suppose we ignore it, lets come to main point, don’t we need a platform to run all these applications? Yes surly we do and here we come to the platform that is our OS (Operating System).

Using pirated software often known as Warez is at one extent, but what about the operating system we are using. I don’t think so most of us know that the Windows we are using is how much worth of? Did we ever bother to know?

Microsoft Windows XP, most common with home users, is a licensed product of Microsoft Corp. And they do not allow its illegal reproduction and publication. But how many of us are using Licensed Version of Microsoft Windows? I don’t think so not a single one here in our society. All we just know is that whenever windows is to be changed, we can easily get a pirated copy of windows from market in 20 to 50 rupees. While the real prices for legal copy are very beyond above our expectations. Windows XP costs around 13000 rupees, Windows Vista around 11,000 rupees, Microsoft Office 2007 worth Rs. 13,000 and Windows Server wirth Rs. 210000, if we are to buy a legal copy. Else a pirated copy is available in DVD in just 50 to 100 rupees.

Will we ever bother to pay 13000 just for an operating system? Surly we never will. But WHY?

Windows is such a necessary thing that any computer user cannot dwell without it. So to get his/her work done, he/she will buy a pirated and no one is here to put the law in action.

But is this what we will always carry on? I am not asking anyone to do buy a licensed version as I am not a Microsoft representative but my question is:

When everyone, even Microsoft itself knows that max percentage of windows user are using illegal version and all of us also know that we will never be agreed to buy legal license. But then why these DMCA rules are so strict?

Should we change our thinking to leave piracy and everyone should pay for what he/she uses or the companies like Microsoft, Symantec, vBulletin and some other companies should admit this fact that piracy cannot be controlled anymore, so the sentence “COPYRIGHTS PROTECTED” should be omitted ?

HERE THE QUESTION IS LEFT UN-ANSWERED UNTIL ONE CHANGES MINDSET EITHER WE OR THE LICENSE OWNERS.

Two Big Internet Giants are togather to Beat One Giant. Title explains a bit, yes it is the time when world’s Biggest software company Microsoft and internet’s larges portal Yahoo are togather to beat Google, which has always been on a dominating poistion, both in market and in user’s point of view. Both companies signed on 29th of July on anagreement of ten year web search and advertising partnership.

Agreement is thought to help both the firm in a long run as Microsoft will be using its new search Bing and will make use of advertisement. While Yhaoo will make use of both these services on its portal along with search results so will be able to genearte more revenue and will help Yahoo to cut short the amount it was previously spending on advertisement.

Here this is necessary to mention that Microsoft has already made a bid of $44.6 billion for Yahoo to takeover it in early 2008 but Yahoo refused that. Once again Microsoft trried and raised the bid to $47.5 billion but Yahoo was never agreed to be left with nothing.

Instead of making deal with Microsoft, yahoo entered into a partnership with Google regarding advertisement but that was cancelled. But now Yahoo in combination with Microsoft will be purly focusing on Ads and it is said that Yahoo will be using only Text Ads to show at right side of its search engine while there no other forms of ads to be used. And yahoo will also be using Microsoft’s portal for advertisement.

But the main discussion is whether Yahoo and Microsoft togather will be able to beat Google Search? As according to a survey it is noted that Microsoft handles on 30% of insternet search in America while Google does 65% but keeping in view Bing, which Microsoft has already launched, it can be said that there might be a good competetion between search engines as recent results have shown good outcome of Bing in less than 3 months.

Google is already dominating with its search and a so called Os, Chrome OS. Chrome OS is NOT a new operating system which is being “developed” by Google. It is actually a Linux distribution – a large collection of software (such as the GNU Compiler Collection, Xorg Applications, KDE desktop enironment, etc) built on top of the Linux Kernel. In essence, Chrome OS is another addition to the existing collection of the many Linux Distributions already in existence.

Its a 10 Years agreement and lets see who wins the race, may be after sometime we will be able to see whether it is microsoft@yahoo.com or yahoo@microsoft.com or Finally microsoft.yahoo@google.com
