The Ministry of Information and Technology (MoIT) has asked the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) to follow rules and regulations and abide by law for issuing licences to the Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNO) at a just fee.

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority has said it received 13,325 complaints against telecom operators of the country during 2008-09. Majority of the complaints were against cellphone operators since they have the biggest share in terms of subscribers in the telecommunication industry.
